Trouble starting manual transmission

The last few days I have had trouble starting my 04 manual transmission VIbe. I push the clutch pedal in as usual and turn the key, The electronics come on but no cranking as if I had not pushed the clutch in. Pumping the clutch up and down a few times and trying again is usually successful. Is there a contact under the clutch pedal or somewhere that can be cleaned? Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks.

this use to happen to me all the time when i first got my vibe but i found out i didnt have the clutch pushed down all the way. there was like a quarter of an inch more to go that made the difference
