My Aspire One came in today. My tech friend suggests keeping my Extensa as a 'backup', but I need the $ and it's only half a year old so I want to sell it. When I bought it, it was the smallest (14.1") I could afford at the time, but it still weighs me down since I also have to carry my dog to work and all the weight has been giving me pain in my shoulders a lot lately. I bought the Aspire One (8.9") for an insane price (new) to lighten the load on me a bit (Extensa a little over 5 lbs, Aspire One a little over 2) I was wondering if the Aspire One memory (1GB) will be sufficient for running photoshop (need it for my site, eBay, etc.) or should I have him put in 1.5 GB? Thanks!!
it should work fine, but it would work better if you upgrade the memory. I like the Aspire Ones, I picked one up for my mom and her book keeping for my business.
wow, i was going to try and check the specs of your computer but there are 50 configurations on acer's website oO i just checked adobe's website and it does say that CS4 requires 512 with 1 GB recommended. if you are looking to save $$ as i am guessing you are because you wanna sell your old computer, check out GIMP(GNU Image Manipulation Program). it is similar to photoshop and because it is released under the GNU license it's free! no issue to download it and try it out, if you don't like it delete.
I looked at the Acer netbooks but I got a Dell Mini in cherry red. I love that thing, I can put it in my purse! I'm still keeping my Toshiba laptop though for my main computer.

I checked the system stats...CPU N270 @1.60 GHZ1.60GHz, .098 RAMMy friend Art came by to check, he said this has a flash drive; his version has a hard drive (he paid twice what I did) and he picked mine up, checked the side and went"Look...they gave you a FREE 8 GB High Capacity SD card...SCORE!! That's like a $70 card! He checks it; it's blank, takes it out, puts it in my Exilim and says now you can take 9,900+ pictures!"(I didn't pay attention to the card slot because my Extensa came with a plastic dummy card in the slot)

don't waste your money on Elements 6.0. It sucks! I just looked at my 12.1 acer and it has 1 GB DDR2 and I'm running CS3 extended without any issues. Elements is just a crappy program. I had Elements 2.0 and it was awesome. the newer versions suck. they dummy it down way too much.

which OS does that aspire run? if its Vista, that SD card was probably setup for "ReadyBoost" which speeds up the pc. CS3 or 4 should easily run on that if its just photoshop that you need.
It's OK, Kari. Keith's sense of humor is kinda different (trust me, I've heard some ignorant hurtful things.) Keith means no harm...so it's cool...gotta love him for all he does to rescue doggies. And Keith...she doesn't get many snacks, but does get cooked certified angus beef meals twice a day.
