I have a 2009 Vibe 2.4L with about 4500km on it. The first 3000km was averaging about 11-11.5L/100km (40% highway /60% city) this winter. Now i'm averaging about 10L/100km for 50%/50%. I hope to get better this summer... it's still high. Seem to be improving lately with the warmer weather and break in...Please let me know what you're getting in L/100km for your 2.4L 09 Vibe? Thanks !
I've had my 2.4L 09 automatic for a year now and I average 10L/100km in mix driving. It's a little dissapointing but it fits with what I've seen on multiple review of the car and I knew that the 2.4L wouldn't be an economy car when I bought it.With respect to my girlfriend, she has hard accelerations in traffic driving and entering the highway and I suspect it accounts for a good chunk of my higher numbers.

Save for a few long trips almost all highway, my usual drive is 70% highway / 30% city. And I live in the Quebec City area, so the winter is cold...I get more or less what I anticipated when I bought the Vibe with the bigger 2.4L engine, cause I'm towing a tent-trailer in the summer, and I feared the base 1.8L would struggle a bit ...
I've had my 09 Vibe AWD for about 3 months so far, and put about 2200Km on it so far... I'm getting close to ~12L/100 Km at the moment. Mostly city driving, short trips, cold weather. I've been told that I should start seeing improvements once I hit around 3000 to 4000.
Forgot to mention that I have a FWD Auto 2009 Vibe in orignal post. I'm curious to know if others see similar L/100km numbers for the 2.4L engine. Thanks
Already responded to similar post elsewhere - but so far with 2200km, FWD 2.4 auto, I've ranged from 7.4 to 7.8 L/100km.I typically drive about 80% highway, and try to keep my speed at 110km/h or less.I love the low revs with the 2.4 and auto. I originally planned on getting a 1.8, but figured that with my highway driving, it seemed a little "buzzier" than I'm used to. I expect to tow as well, so the extra torque and bigger brakes sounded like a good idea to me.
