Picked the Vibe over the Wave originally, can't imagine downgrading now. If I were to buy a mini-sub-compact commuter It'd be a Yaris. But I can't see that day coming anytime soon.

Because I've ridden in a trunk before and it gets hard to breath after awhile. That's one thing I've never considered in a vehicle purchase is back seat size. I lucked out with the Vibe because it's apparently nice and roomy. The back seats in most of my cars has been like a 4-seater crammed into a 2-seater (see sig).

I don't intend to buy one but I just got a direct e-mail from Pontiac "introducing" me to the new G3. I only have $1000 or so left on the Vibe and really don't want a car payment for awhile.

I don't see what the advantage would be. Less cargo room. Less interior room. Probably harsher ride. Probably slower. Perhaps slightly better gas mileage? I'm already getting 36 mpg in the Vibe, I can't imagine the G3 getting much better. Does this thing have the center gauge pod? Because I will never buy a car with one of those.
We have a car lot that used to be a Chevy dealership and now it is a Pontiac. I was driving by the other day thinking to myself, "Now why in the world would they be putting the Aveo on the front row?" Then I came to my senses and remembered that it was the G3 at Pontiac, not an Aveo at Chevy.

reviews of the aveo are just horrid. they said it sucks at just being a car and nothing else let along using it to get groceries or drive....Theres much better out there than that car...

It's an Aveo. It's yet another sad cookie-cutter GM design. The Aveo is a poor excuse for a small car; it's not fuel efficent (the Vibe does better) it's not comfortable, and it's not 5 star crash rated.
