Help with VIBE's paint...

Post by huy397 »

Some idiot in the parking lot scratched my VIBE's passenger side door and it's right on the "door strip".( I am not familar with car terms but I am refering to the part that's below the door handles and sticks out a little )I imagine the use of it is to protect the side door panel ? Is there a way to fix that without painting the whole car ? Maybe paint that part myself ? And is that part of the car metal or not ? thank you

If you're talking about the 'Sidebody Molding' on the door, no, it is not metal, but plastic. You can probably buy the strip of molding from the dealer prepainted, so you won't need to paint the whole car. Even so, you would only have to paint the door, if you had to paint at all. Check with the dealer on the price of the molding to see if it is cheaper to replace it or paint it.

If your talking about the thin stip on the middle of the door, they do come painted in satelite, salsa, and neptune. I found that out a while ago when I was asking about replacing the lowere cladding.
