weathertech window visors are on!

Post by lowincash »

finally got the visors from weathertech yesterday and got them installed in about 10 minutes work...front ones are bit tricky to get in lol so far so good. they fit perfectly just as i expected. i was worried it will hit the visor when i roll the windows up like it did on my maxima but the window doesn't hit the visor. another thing i noticed is the wind noise is gone when the windows are rolled up. before i get a slight whistling sound coming near driver side window but now it's gone. anyways i took a few pics of it but yah it's good to roll down the windows a bit when it's raining and stuck in traffic lol

Looks good! It is a much cleaner look than my Lee Press-on's. (and by Lee, I mean GM)

I just got mine. I noticed that the rear ones don't fit very well though. The flange at the rear of the visor is way too wide... half of the piece of tape is still showing! Plus the edges are razor sharp! If I ever get into a fight, at least I'll have a weapon handy.

I had those on my Vibe and had a lot of trouble with the rear ones falling out. So be careful once the tape starts to let go -- you might lose them!

yeah the rear ones do show the tape a bit...the sharp edge is used to kinda help hold the visor in place too. i thought it was too sharp so i snapped it off and it won't stay on now haha weathertech was going to send me new ones but i've decided not to use the rear ones. i've been only using the fronts which is fine but lately i've taken them out. will put it back on when it's rainy season

I just went to WeatherTech's Website and there is not an option for the rear vent visors for the Vibe yet available for the Matrix. Hmmm.

Hmmm.LOL... they must have removed them when they kept getting complaints about how poorly they fit!

I'm new to this community. I love my Vibe and hate the wind noise on the driver's side. I appreciate your sharing of how you solved it. What I'm unclear of is which deflectors to buy. Is the quality and fit that much better from WeatherTech to charge more than twice that of AVS? I'd appreciate your input on this. Thanks.

The Weather Techs look wicked good on the car, so worth the price. Weather Tech is a window visor, while the tape-ons are more like a window awning. I kid, some, but not really. Since the Weather Tech visor fits inside the top of the window channel, it can tighten the fit between window and inside weather seal. If the window seal is short or has some type of gap (and some do develop that) it can cause wind noise anyway. You should check those rubber seals to make sure they haven't been pushed into one side or the other. If it has, try to pull it back to minimize the gap.Welcome to the site. Don't see many "Mainiacs" on the forum. You'll find a great group of people here at genvibe. And as always, post a picture of your Vibe as soon as you get a chance. We all like Vibe pictures!

Yeah, I too do not have much faith in the tape they put on there. I have already re-taped ours once w/double-sided. Next comes the 3M gray tape. If that doesn't work, I take the rear ones off altogether. The fronts are the most important ones anyway.
