Hi .. E-mail...staffordfabrication@yahoo.com......The kit is for the 1zz.. comes with a header, t-3 turbo , intercooler, and fuel set-up..and Bov..and an air intake w a cone filter......It takes about 8hrs to install...but e-mail Mike Stafford .. ...he is your guy...

The kit is $3500.oo... and 3800.oo if installed at Stafford Fabrications...But I saw over at matrixowner.com that Mike STafford was offering the Kit for 2900.oo for a group buy of 10 kits...plus the extra 300.00 for the install....It fits the base vibe./matrix...I asked Mike about the GT/XRS...He is willing to do a prototype...he is in the socal area...It would be the same price roughly as a group buy price... ...but anyways... this is the same kit..the 1zz one that is... that is on my post "My turbo project is underway"...I just need to update that one of these months with final pics(yet to be taken)and the dyno sheets

hey,do you know what is included in that price? and is it intercooled? you can get a really crappy turbo system if you dont know what your buying. also, the xrs has 11.5-1 comp. ratio. im not sure how much boost this motor can take before it turns into a smelter.
yes ,you get a garret t-3 turbo , oil lines....not sure about the oil pan situation because i got it sinstalled there ,... a huge inter cooler w/ a 9" x 19" core all the Ic plumbing, cai w cone filter... bracket for mas sensor, Bov, a turbo header, and a fuel set up which gves you the right a/f ratio under boost.. it runs at 7.5 lbs of boost and gives you over 200hp and over 200 tq to the wheels..for the guages, you are on your own...there is no boost controller..or resporator ...lol...

I was wondering how much do you enjoy that turbocharger and if you think it was worth the money. I'm kinda debating between the supercharger and the turbo.
quote:How many miles have you put on your turbo kit? Do you really need a boost controller?around 4k miles...The turbo comes w/ an internal wastgate, so you really cant use a boost controller..when my turbo was changed to an ar60 compressor housing , from the ar42 that I had originally....the wheel/impeller/fan-is the same as before...but the outside houseing is larger now...will flow more cfm per same psi...spools a little slower, but flow more air.....mr Stafford added some bleeder valves to my waste gate..so I can conrtolboost from 4.5 to 10psi..but i have to open the hood for that.....I do not have a boost guage...yet....I felt no need for one when I felt confident at my 7.5 setting...now that I can adjust, I seem to want to know....I originally like the idea of not having any guages , so I can watch the road ...not the guage...but now I want to know.....Its not a bad Idea....I think I am goint to get a blitz turbo timer...that has a boost logger on it , so you can read what happenened...but after the fact....right now....I can tlee if I am boosting 7 or 10...You can deff tell....so I am not too worried about boost creep...and the fuel set up multiplies the fuel calibration referenced to manifold pressure, so the fuel wil allways be there....but ......no you dont need a boost controller... I'm kinda debating between the supercharger and the turbo.I am kinda hoping that people can get to gether for a group buy of 10 people, because then the kit will be 2900.00.. and if you live in so cal area ..Stafford will install it for 300.00...For a turbo kit...that is a real nice deal!..The turbo kit..makes mor power than the pontiac Sc will....It is fun to drive because of the small lag ...then woosh!..its all over! ,,The sc has its advantages because the boost coomes on nearly immediatley...but you cantnt beat the fun factor of the turbo....and with a little practice, you learn some skill on how to get to boost and stay there w/ no lag...but given the same psi and same fuel...mor power is made w a turbo...It is more efficient.......but for those who opt for the sc.,,I cant wait to hear from you all ...on how fun it is to drive...the Matrix guy who has the same set up as me..and I talk from time to time , we tell stories, and compare stuff.....we both love our set ups, and yes ..it is worth the $$$..Also there is a celica 1zz person w/ the Staffor dFabrication stet up on it , who I talk to alot...So far we are all pretty happy, and feel like we cheated some how to get such a great deal on our turbo stet ups...between the 3 of us we have about 15-20k miles..there is so much to say about how fun its....but as you know, 2nd and 3rd gear is fun N/A...but withe the turbo...those gears are a blast...its warp speed ahead!, and now 4th and 5the gear have guts....! its great!

Yeah, unfortunately I live in Michigan, so going to cali for the install is out of the question. The way you talk about the turbo makes me really wish I had one. The reason why I can't decide is because I work for a Pontiac dealership and I will be able to get a good discount on the S/C, so I guess its really about the money. Also, are you out of warranty yet on the car? That was the other thing, the S/C doesn't void the warranty.
quote: Also, are you out of warranty yet on the car? That was the other thing, the S/C doesn't void the warranty.I am not sure, butI thinknk technichally, the SC voids the original warrnty, but then re-warranties ,with a new one..and for the sam duration as the originall....whatever that means ???? a lot of people haave said this and that about what will void your warranty...and no I have not run out.....I only have 11k mi on the car and 4 of them are turbo....I cant imagine much of anything that will be honored any more...but I can always try ,if something goes wrong...but mymotor has been affected by f/i and so has the trnny, and the clutch....warranties are always a fight...and blah blah blah..but I will say this , since pontiac/toyota- feels that its safe to fi this motor...so do I...And I feel better about my set ups safety than even the sc's...my air is intercooled and I have plenty of fuel going in...and It makes me happy that Stafford relly likes the 1zz..say it responds so well to f/i for creating power...better than the lancer-civic-altima-eclipsethat he has recently turboed, and in fact is think about getting a vibe/matrix...On a test run he drove 80 miles away to p/u a bunch of suplies...w/ my permison for cours, ..and loved how much he could fit in the back....and says"I thought you got this car to be sporty...I did not realize you cand use it like a truck!" lol ..I know..us owners know...this is the first real car that can be every thing....

Hey, Your making me change my mind on getting the S/C. Does Stafford have any sort of warrenty for the parts. I can't drive all the way to Cali for the install so I would have to find a shop around here to install it. Does the kit come with instructions to make it easier on the tech that installs it? Also, what makes that beautiful whistle sound in turbo's when you rev and shift at speed? The wastegate or blow-off valve? Does yours do that? And, finally (sorry for all the ?'s), how do I order a turbo kit and what kind of payment plan do they take?

Update on this....I just spoke w/ Stafford Fabrication, he is currently in the process of fabricating/installing a turbo kit to run at approximatley 5-7psi on pump gas for the 2ZZ!!!!! The test vehicle is on a GT-S Celica equipped with the 2ZZ, however he should be able to tell if this kit is going to work within a months time. This is excellent news for me as he has taken out alot of the hard work!Ciao!Davin
