Replacing fog light lens

Post by michaelg »

My passenger side fog light lens is smashed. I've ordered a new one. Is there anything special I need to know to switch them out? Thanks for your help.

you have to replace the whole assembly, not just the lens like your title suggests

Thanks. I should have stated that differently. I was trying to clarify that I wasn't just replacing the bulb.I did buy the whole assembly.

the easy way to do it is to remove the bumper so your not laying on the ground to do it... but yea it's pritty strait forward

Thanks, I wondered about that. I could get my hand into where the back of the assembly was, but couldn't really see what I was doing.

If you have a set of car ramps, you can get the car high enough to change them from below. It's really pretty easy. I never tried removing the bumper, like Keith did. Then get yourself some lexan fog light protectors sold right here on genvibe. Well worth it. I speak from experience.

When I did a set for a member here, I had to swap the stock adjuster screws for the ones they came with...FYI... they were the Ebay ones..
