Bye, Bye Vibe

Post by flywithabowtie »

Sorry guys, I know I haven't been on here very much, but the information and respect I have gotten from this site has been awesome.Just to let you know I didn't drift very far. Yesterday I traded in the Vibe w/ 176k miles to get a 2009 Pontiac G6.

That's funny...we traded in our 06 G6 on our 09 vibe. We really liked our G6, it just wasn't versatile enough(needed a hatchback). The G6 was a great car that we had no problems with over 45,000 miles. You get the I4 or the V6?Good luck and enjoy the G6!

Same for G6 to Vibe too - not a downgrade. Never compared prices - G6 might be less.

Less utility with the G6, but more 'cityfied' or uptown than the Vibe. The G6 has a very good chassis, the Epsilon platform that first came out as the Opel Vectra and the Saab 9-3. I think the Chevy Malibu and Saturn Aura are also Epsilon based. Very good cars. I tried out the Saab 9-3 manual with the low pressure turbo (small t) 4 pot engine in 2004 and was impressed. Briefly drove a G6 that my son rented in 2007, but it had the V-6 and seemed like a rocket by comparison to the Saab.Only had three 'sedan' type vehicles with trunks out back. A 1970 Maverick in 1969 (first car), a 1968 VW Beetle in 1978 (trunk out front!) while in Germany, and my 1993 Civic Coupe EX in 1993 (this one I kept). Have always been a fan of the small 'wagon', and a fan of the Vibe since it was first introduced. Before the Vibe I drove a 1999 Saturn SW2 that will not die and is still the ski car/sacrificial anode to the salt Gods, except the body sides. Considered a CRV or a RAV4, but they were way more money, less mpg and worst of all, no manual option! So the 08 Vibe finally got a place in the garage when sales made it too good to pass up. Hope you don't miss you Vibe too much!

My bad.
