I have an 09 base fwd and am not sure what the dash top or door top material is (sort of a hard rubber cross thatch) and being black makes it impossable to keep clean from smudges and lint. What is everyone else doing?Thinking about getting a dash mat but that might look goofy.Never seen this material before,it is awfull.
The 09 dash top was developed from an odd cross thatch hard rubber plastic that is impossible to clean and has a great affinity for smudges and lint. It's the newest trend and should grow on you, especially as you watch it become a center of organic growth, not unlike a type of chia. Hope you don't have allergies!Toyota has done this kind of material before and it is hard to clean. The first gen vibe isn't much better. A lint free cloth dipped in soapy water (dish detergent works OK) but not too soapy and not too wet, followed by a dry lint free cloth should do the trick. A black or charcoal dash mat might be a good idea. All you have to do with those things is give it a quick vac.

I hate the dash material too. I swear that if I think about touching it it smudges. I have just been using a wet terry cloth to clean it, with mixed results.
