While the factory HU is decent, I didn't care for the iPod connectivity. Plus nothing matches the quality of an aftermarket unit. So back around New Years I went shopping & picked up the Alpine CDA-9886.After a lot of searching for the dash kit, I finally purchased what I needed from Crutchfield Canada. Got the kit & wiring harness & antenna adapter last week & finally installed it last weekend. Only to find out I got the wrong antenna adapter & wiring harness. Ended up t-tapping the radio harness into the factory harness (solder & tape) When I can find the proper harness adapter I'll fix it.I also got my cruise control "harness" as well (didn't realize the switch didn't come with the wires) and installed it too!The first 2 items off my 'to-do' list

I see the audio addiction has got a good hold of you... lol... Nice to hear you actually used solder and tape, rather than "vampire clips" most people would use, then forget about it... good job..
the mod bug has bitten... no turning back now....put some sound deadner in and the stock system will sounds a lot better.I have had several people say the stock speakers sound so much better now that I have the deadner installed

Hopefully you can now become a asset here... I'm not much of an "alarm guy" but the rest of the install stuff, I have down.. I spend a lot of time here, but try not to speak of things I don't know about... so, sometimes i'm really active in threads and sometimes i'm not...
Upgraded the speakers yesterday. Picked up 2 sets of 2-way Alpine S-Type. probably should've gotten some sound deadener in there too, but I'll add that when I go to do my power locks/remote keyless. Hopefully next week!

You mean the '09 Vibe still doesn't come standard with cruise control?

I am thinking installing a new head unit and probably some speakers as well. I just have the base unit. I was pretty surprised at how much the doors vibrate at a relatively low volume as well. I was worried that an aftermarket head unit would look strange in the 09's because of the shape of the "opening", but after looking at that photo it looks pretty good.
