I just got a new Vibe and the dealer put their sticker on the back left, above the AWD label. They also have their name on the license plate holder. Can I remove the label without damaging the paint? Any suggestions as to the best approach would be appreciated.
try to peel off the sticker and then clean the residue thats left on the paint with WD40! I would just spray wd40 on the sticker as i peeled it off though! good luck! I do this method all the time at work and WD40 has never hurt a paint job yet!
If it's a vinyl sticker, try using a hair dryer or heat gun to heat it up and weaken the adhesive. Just don't use too much heat to avoid hurting the paint. Then peel gently. I used a touch of Goo Gone to remove the remaining adhesive, but be sure to wipe it off immediately to prevent damaging the paint. If it's a stick on tag, try dental floss behind it. Some people say that helps as well.

How about a belt sander with 40 grit. Oh, you said NOT damage the paint. Depending whether it is a sticker, or a plastic plate, you may or may not have to saw it off with fishing line. Then you can remove the goo/sticky stuff with either a hair dryer and a rag, or GOO Gone. Although, unless you specifically asked the dealer to put their advertisement on your car, or they are paying you for the "billboard", I would have them remove it!
If it is a vinyl sticker, it should come off relatively easily. You can use a hair dryer, or let the car sit in the sun for a while. It should peel off with a little figernail manipulation. Then remove the residue with Goo Gone.If you are uncomfortable with doing this, take it back to the dealership and have them remove it.

Windex, a Razor Blade and Paper Towel......Spray a lot of Windex on the paper that's left over after you peel it off and take the blade and gently scrap the remainder off then go behind it with paper towel. Repeat if neccessary.I got the idea from a store manager that had me do this at A&P Grocery Store when I was a teenager.Worked just fine for me taking off my sticker
Thanks for all of the advice (esp RIT's). I believe the sticker is just shiny paper, not vinyl. I will try something this weekend and let you know. I'd take it to the dealer to do, but the dealer is not close to home and it's not worth driving all the way out there if I can do it myself.
