Anyone using a series 60 Muffler! If you are what do you think of the sound!

I think it might have helped out a bit more in the 3000-4000 rpm range. low end torque seemed a little stronger as well. I'll try to figure out how to record a sound byte this week.
I installed the 50 series on my Base with a 3" tip. I like the sound and the performance difference. I can feel the difference especially taking off from a red light.

aha sorry i wasnt looking at forums i would have replied earlier. Well, unless you love the sound of a cars engine i wouldnt reccomend it. Without a muffler at all, it sounds like an aftermarket exhaust when you rev it, but it gets really loud when your driving. It's so bassy around 2900 RPM that if your in the cabin with windows up, your head kind of hurts lol . So, I went to summitracing.com and got a pacesetter tip with dual resonators and it made it sound really really good, no more annoying bass around 2900 RPM. On the highway unless you like the sound of your engine, dont do it because its a humming noise. But, I noticed a huge impovement in performance around 4000 and up. Hope that helps. Tell me how to get a sound file and i will. I don't have a digital recorder.
Yeah its probably illegal too because it's loud, but only if you want it to be. Theres a way to get around it if you have a stick, I have a gt so i know how to control the sound if cops are around....youll figure it out. I love it, but i wouldnt reccomend for everyone.
Thanks for the advice, dmitri. If the sound was OK, I planned to hook up a cable to open and close the valve from the driver's seat, so that would get around any highway drone (I could even set it part way and have some muffling). If I really hated the sound, I was just going to close the valve permanently and call it fake duals. I'm a bit surprized it's as loud as you say, because I assume the two cats and resonator are still in place on yours. On the other hand, if they didn't need the muffler to meet requirements, it wouldn't be there!Is yours a 1ZZ or 2ZZ? (Mine's a 1ZZ.)A lot of people have posted sound clips, but I don't know how. Hopefully someone will clue us in.
Well I put a 60 series on, and holy s--- this thing sounds awesome!!!! No coffee can drone, no loss of power, great fit! This muffler really barks at about 3000 and up, but if you drive like a sane man you can barely tell anything has been changed except for the pedal feel; definitly more power (quicker exhaust evacuation) combined with my K and N replacement filter this has been a very worthwhile upgrade in my mind! I've been thinking of going with the Flowmaster 60 as well. You say you definately feel a difference in power? Just out of curiosity (and if you don't mind me asking) how much did it run you? How do you like your front end cover? I was planning on getting one when I bought my Vibe but I heard several stories on this forum that they will fade your paint underneath them. Any problems with it? Any chance on a sound byte of that Flowmaster? Jim

There is a pleasant gain under foot, not slaming you back in the seat but a real difference in the way the car feels through the gears! I paid about 115 bucks Can., but I work for an autoparts store, still not bad for a 10 year muffler!!!?! I would suggest that you use the 952462 it is center in, offset out. Whoever installs it will have to make a piece to draw the location back towards the front of the car, and fab some mounts, but shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks. It only takes about 15-20 minutes for a true muffler installer to put one in. I don't have the means to get a decent sound byte (unless some one can suggest one) but trust me if you are looking for a low powerful(outside) but almost silent(inside the car) at cruising speed tone this is it, I couldn't , at speed tell a difference in interior noise between the FM and the OEM! I used to have an 80 Bronco w/ 400 and a pair of cherry bombs for mufflers and no tailpipes after listening to those for 3 or four years I put FM on and now appreciate the 'tone without the drone' concept. The Flowmaster exceeded my expectations! Good luck!P.S. As for the 'manziere' I live where we get the roads pretty heavily sanded in the winter and this cars spends its day making sales calls so it was the better looking of two evils. Craters from rocks, looking crappy, and always touching up or a nice looking add-on and a little paint work when I sell it? Like I said, I am in the automotive industries so favors are frequent, paint job costs me beer!!

thats what i ist...i have the 2zz because i have a vbe GT. Its not loud like you cant handle it, but definitely loud. The thing thats loud is the bass sound its not high pitched. The best is the backfiring between quick shifting
a flowmaster 60 series installed should only be about 100 bucks. Mine was 110 dollars bot thats because I had them take out the resonater chamber as well.
go to http://www.summitracing.com they have everything. Personally i would just get a glasspack or a thrust muffler or somehting cheap. Flowmasters are pretty expensive mufflers for something a cheap one can do. They want 90 for the muffler around there. My flowmaster entire system for my 88 camaro was only around 200. Not worth it if u ask me.
i had my guy take out my muffler and install a flow master, not sure of the number. I did not take out the resonator because it was deep and loud just like that. He also installed a 3" or 4" tip maybe ractive, i'll have to check. It sounds awesome on decell at like 4200 rpm's down, real whroom. One thing i noticed though is that the tip is BLACK, so i'm running rich or fat if you like. I think the Ingen should take care of that, right?
i got my 40 series for 54 bucks. and that included shiping. you have to do your research before you bid on these.
