Saw the Dave Gill ad in this morning paper - called to make sure it was for real - was out there in 45 minutes.Color choices were white, black, silver and this carbon gray metallic. 2009 Vibe, carbon gray metallic with a/c, at, p-pkg, MSRP 19,480. The were basically selliing it for a red tag price of (invoice?) of $18,664, less $2,000. I got another $250 discount form a Customer Card deal they have for service customers (10% disc on service and $250 on a car up to $500 max a year). The rebates included the $500 regular rebate, $1,000 loyalty rebate, and the GM card topped off $3,000 rebate. That brought it to $11,914. Sales tax, doc fee and temp plates brought the total to $13,314 out the door. The great state of Ohio calculates sales tax before rebates. This Vibe just arrived and needs to be prepped so I will pick it up Monday.I didn't even ask about trade-in on the 2003 Vibe with 33,000 miles as I know from experience I can sell it myself for more than they would offer. The tires were replaced at 20,000 miles so they look great.I actually like the design of the 2003 better but a new car warranty and all that extra safety stuff is worth it.

great deal jake75, and trust me....the 09 is a much better car than the 03. Congratulations. If you've got the money, this downturn in the economy is the best time to find values out there.
I have a digital camera but I have never taken the time to learn how to post photos. But it looks the exactly the same as any other 2009 base Vibe of that color so you won't have to use your imagination. Also - I am not one to do mods so it will pretty much stay that way - they did have a silver one on the floor with a optional $75 done pinstripe that sort of takes the edge off that mass of metal on the sides. I might consider that.I forgot to mention that they also are giving me a Tom Tom portable navigation device. Probably the 3.5 inch low end one but still something useful. Now I hope GM doesn't go bankrupt and my warranty is no good! That was one of my reasons to buy.

Congrats, you made an excellent deal there... Whoever gets your old Vibe when you go to sell it will be pretty lucky too... super low miles and it sounds like well cared for.

Of course having the foresight to have a GM Mastercard and building up a rebate balance was a major plus. And of course this rotten economy was a factor - my paper losses would buy the best Mercedes or BMW you could buy.

Congrats on the amazing deal! At least GM stayed in business long enough for you to take advantage of the GM points. I'm afraid most folks will just lose them if GM tanks.I'll be interested to hear how the '09 compares to the '03. I LOVE my '03 and I wasn't thrilled with some of the things they've changed in the redesign.+1 on the 'paper losses'. My 401k is down 50% from the market high, but still up more than 25% above what I contributed. I was HEAVILY into stocks. I don't worry about what I could've bought with it. The 'Revenuers' would have taken 35% or more up-front anyway.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
Right on re 401k - the IRS (and in my case the not so great State of Ohio) is sharing in my losses.I picked the 2009 up an hour ago - I cannot say enough about this buying experience at Dave Gill Pontiac in Columbus (2 miles from me). They were great. Of course I was extremely happy with the deal which, with the GM Card $3,000, amounted to 39% off msrp. I expect that extra $2,000 dealer discount had to be due to GM incentive money. They seemed happy to make the sale so they must have made some money on the transaction. They said they sold 2 of the 4 at that price they had in stock from the Saturday ad. . I thought they'd sell all 4 but not everyone has GM Points to further sweeten the pot. And if GM's goal is to move the metal, that worked because I really didn't plan to buy a car. The only change that I think I am going to miss is the lack of a fold down passenger seat - but I have probably only used that 3 times in last 6 years. My wife is pleased with the added safety features - multiple air bags, antilock brakes, stability control, and OnStar. I bought the 100 minutes extra phone time deal For $15.Initial impression - it seems quieter, and the electric vs. hydraulic power steering is going to take some getting used to. I did not notice any thing negative in the drive by wire. The slight reduction in cargo area is no big deal to me.I would have been happy continuing to drive the '03 but I place a lot of value on having a warranty and not even having to worry about routine stuff like brake pads.I do not worry about losing either GM points or warranty coverage - I had a lot of airline miles with TWA but American picked them up for me. Even if GM went bankrupt, they are not going to go out of business and the bankruptcy court will likely allow them to maintain past warranty coverage. The basic GM Points are really part of the credit card company not GM, though the extra "top off" is probably GM funded. ,
