I don't believe there's much of a power difference in the GT vs the regular Vibes, not like previous models.03 GT was the best year. Before they started hacking away at emissions and lowered the power. new GTs = NO LIFT

From Edmunds.com:Quote »Powertrains and PerformanceThe base 2009 Pontiac Vibe is powered by a 1.8-liter 132-horsepower four-cylinder engine. All other trims feature a 2.4-liter four with 158 hp. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on all but the AWD, which comes with a four-speed automatic. The latter is optional on the base Vibe, while the 1SB and the GT offer an available five-speed automatic.so again, hardly ANY power differences and looks like you can still get the 2.4L in a base trim. the only advantage of the new 2.4L over the previous 1zz/2zz models is the low end torque which is 162 @ 4000 rpms vs 130 (or so) at the same. Still lacks power, and the GT seems to be mainly exterior and interior (bodykit) vs the base with 2.4L option. No more 6MT for GT, just a badge.*edit* and the AWD version gets a much needed power increase
i got my GT because i love the look for the new gen =D i wouldn't have gotten a vibe if i wanted power lolthere's always going to be a debate over which year GT is better and whatnot...obviously they made the new GT more refined and better for the average drivers who wants decent power and nice looking car. at least that's what i was looking for and this car has everything i wanted lol heck they put a camry engine in there...and camry's ain't sporty.
I bought the GT over base for the styling, too. I almost regret not getting an AWD with the upgraded options (moonroof/stereo upgrade), but come spring I'll be content with what I have. My only concern is replacing those 18 inch tires when the time comes...ouch.

Dont the vibes just have all seasons on them? Not to bad price wise 100-150 a tire. Try having to buy 18" summer racing tires I did find some for 169....
I try to cheat as much as possible and buy the stock dunlops (really nice actually) from other STI owners who wanted to go bigger or badder. cheap price for expensive tires!
