MR Grille question

Post by kunkstyle »

For anyone familiar with the Mr Grille products:From the looks of things the Mr Grille billet grill mounts over the OEM grill. Can it be adapted to replace the OEM instead of being zip tied to it? Or would there be too much clearance causing it to rattle around?

I have one on my '03, it zip ties. unless you manufacture some kind of brackets. which would be alot of work.

For an '06 it replaces the 2 large upper grilles, it bolts to the 2 small lower grilles and zip ties to the center lower grille. It's a big job to do the 2 large grilles, you pretty much need to remove the bumper. I never installed the 2 upper ones on my '06. I actually prefer the zip tie method I had on my '04. It was easy to install or remove and was very secure.

The only hard part of this project is the brackets. How to integrate them without looking like (removed).I've been toying with this project for a while now(with mesh),can't get past the bracket issue. But I'm not the greatest fabricator.

Back to the old drawing board.
