I don't think the Vibe has one. I don't remember seeing one in mine and I fill up every week on Tuesday. I'll have to check again.

It wouldn't be necessary in a car like the Vibe which has a latching fuel cover that can only be released from inside the car.

Kinda makes one wonder why the VIBE doesn't have one.

When a car accelerated fuel would move to the back of the tank and sometimes out the filler tube. Remember, gas tanks weren't sealed back then so fuel could leak out even with the cap on. All you have to do is watch 60's car at the drag strip and you'll usually see one spewing fuel at the beginning of the track.

There are no baffles in the fuel tank but the fuel pump does have a "sock" or "strainer" to screen out large chunks and/or debris! So i wouldn't worry about your fuel pump it will be fine, the hardest thing on a FP is driving with less than an 1/4 tank. As the gas acts a a coolant to keep the pump working cool and properly, when the gas gets below a quarter tank it's sitting below the pump not surrounding it, not getting the total cooling effect. Now granted this doesn't sound terribly bad in the grand scheme of things, when you figure a fuel pump replacement is going to be at least a thousand dollars it starts to become something you think about more seriously! Most modern cars have the fuel pump/fuel sender assemblies manufactured as one unit (just ask any Dodge Caravan owner who has had to replace his) and most are worth 500-600 bucks PLUS the install!!!!!
