For those getting 27+ MPG how did you breakin your car?

Ive heard pros and cons about all different ways to breakin a vehicle. Im wondering about those with 2.4L that are getting 27-35 or more mpg, which methods did you use?

I did nothing special. I changed the oil to synthetic at about 1500 miles and took a couple of 2-3 hour road trips. The first road trip was mostly over 2-lane highways up the middle of the state from Columbus to Sandusky. The second was mostly interstate, I used the cruise and got lucky with the wind and weather.
