Negotiating for my new Vibe

Post by PMC »

I'm going in to do the negotiating for my new Vibe tomorrow. The dealership ordered it, it has arrived, but I haven't signed anything or even discussed price. It's a base 1.8L 5 speed with the 1SB. Sticker is just a hair over $20g. How much can I realistically talk them down? The current batch of incentives expire Jan 10. Any guesses about whether I'm smart to wait to see if I can do better or take advantage of what's being offered?Right now they have the $500 holiday discount. I want to pay cash for the car but since there are no cash incentives I'd either use the 0% GMAC financing and keep my money working for me, or get $2,500 off by doing long term outside financing and pay it off right away. This is my first new car so any suggestions are appreciated.

Since it's already been ordered I can't see them coming down a whole lot. They already know you want the vehicle. As far as incentives go December/January and August/September seem to be the best months for those. At 0% you may as well.
