I just purchased a 2009 AWD Sun and Sound package vibe and was assured by the dealer that it was supposed to have a power lock on the liftgate. I brought it in to another dealer for warranty service and they are telling me that my particular 'build' doesn't have it!Are they full of crap?Does anyone with a 2009 vibe with power locks NOT have a power lock on the lift gate?!
My 09 has a power lift gate lock and it's a base model--so I call BS. However it does not have any way to activate it from within the car(no button). The only way to unlock is with the key of remotely using the key fob thingy. If you hit the unlock button on your key twice in a row(quickly, it should unlock the lock on the hatch?
Nope. I've tried every possible combo of driver/passenger locks, clicking and double/triple clicking the key fob. Turning the key to the left and right.I even did it while on the phone to the salesman that sold me the car and he agreed that it should work.
My 2004 was a base unit and it had a power lock for the lift gate. I would just unlock twice from the door or key fob and it would be unlocked. If yours does not do that (which I think EVERYONE does) tell the dealership to suck it and fix it or bring it to a non incompetent one.
My '09 GT has power lock on the liftgate. The Power-lock switch on the door or the double push on the key-remote unlocks it. I think your dealer is trying to jam you. ... wasn't on that 'build' lol.
OK, problem solved...So I took the car back to the dealer I purchased it from and they were much more helpful. They couldn't believe that it didn't work and immediately brought it into the service dept. and opened it up. It turns out that the actuator WAS there, but its guts were missing! It was a manufacturing error before the part even made it to the production line. The part is on order. Thanks to all who responded!
