I don't think it would be a replacement since they just revamped the Vibe/Matrix. And plus, the gas mileage isn't close to being as good to the Vibe/Matrix, they wouldn't drop us for something with worse MPG.

The Venza is based off the Camry, and is a larger vehicle.

not that much biggermatrixL = 173W = 69H = 61VenzaL = 189W = 75H = 63and if gas milage isn't that good why build it? seems like Toyota is going the way of GM by building to many vehicles for a vehicle class. jm $0.02

It seems largely redundant... Didn't Toyota bloat the RAV4 and add a 3rd row seat? Why come up with this thing? I'm thinking they're probably close to the same size but don't have the time to research... Can't wait to see Toyota's own models begin to cannibalize each other's sales and see them scratch their heads trying to figure out why. Didn't they already have a Camry based "crossover" thing, ahem - highlander? Why another?

The Venza is a V6 halfway point between an SUV and regular sized car. This is communly known as a Station Wagon but Toyota will not call it as such since it's not a popular name. It's marketed at people downsizing their SUV for a smaller family vehicule with decent cargo room and a V6. It's bigger, more powerful and more luxirious than a Matrix/Vibe.The is a 4 cylinder engine but I doubt a lot of people will buy it.Toyota is getting rather redundant in the CUV segment.

I believe that this vehicle is targeted at the Ford Edge as a 5 passenger crossover.
