Hi there:I am still Vibey Wanna Be because I have no Vibe you see Not happy with not getting my vehicle yet. It seems that what I what is not available or that it is being bought before even being shipped to the local dealer where I am. Yet there are no 2004's where I am so I am not happy right now. Need some encouragement. Vibes are not as common as Matrixes and I am being encouraged to look to Matrixes. I still want my Vibey though
Relax.... order a vibe, don't buy it off the lot. then you can order what you want with what options you want. buy american buy a pontiac quote: It seems that what I want is not available or that it is being bought before even being shipped to the local dealer where I am. I don't understand the statement but, if you order a car you will get that car it won't be sold to anyone else
Hey no worries! Good things come to those who wait, afterall. We put in an order for my Vibe, the dealer found one. Was gonna have it shipped, they get there to pick it up: find out it was sold.So we find another. Other dealership sells it.3rd one we got was my Vibe, and I couldn't be happier! :DIt might take some time, but the wait is well worth it!

‘03 Vibe with 317k and still going.............................
Hi Geo:Well, I don't know. My entusiasm has been curtailed a bit. I don't know anymore. The next closest dealer is a 30-45 minutes away and I don't have the time for maintenance of a vehicle if I have to drive that far for it to be maintained. If there is a bridge that is up, it takes an hour at least because of having to wait. And the next dealership doesn't have the one I want. So I think I might have to get the next best thing, the Matrix.
Go to http://www.gmbuypower.com and "build" the car you want, or search the dealer inventory. Then the web site will show you the closest dealers that have the closest matching cars in stock. From the web site, you can say "Give me a price quote on this car" or even "hold this car for me."GM wants this web site to work very much, so they have specially trained "buypower" reps in each dealership to work with you to make sure you get what you want. Give it a shot, and don't give up on the Vibe!!

They tried to do several Dealer trades to get exactly what I wanted, and every time they found one, it was tagged "sold". I ended up having to get one without the alarm system just to keep all my other "needs" in check.
I myself will be purchasing a Vibe GT with Moon & Tunes, and Power packages witihin a week. Quick question: How lond does it take for Pontiac to deliver a Vibe if its ordered from the factory?
I ordered my Vibe GT from the dealership and have not been disappointed. It is really nice to have a Vibe that is your own and not just off the lot. Although I would have to say I would take one off the lot if I had to. But because I had the choice, I ordered one.All I can say is be patient and get what you really want. Don't settle for anything because you won't be as happy with your decision if you do. Good luck!

Well I definitely intend to get what I want. I don't mind waiting a few weeks for one to be shipped from another location but not sure I want to wait 8 weeks for one just off the factory floor. However, a factory new Vibe would be great.

The only thing I didn't get by doing a dealer trade was the Alarm System. I really wanted to get rid of my sunfire lease, so I took the chance and got 95% of what I wanted. VERY HAPPY as is.

For that much money, get what you want.quote:Go to http://www.gmbuypower.com and "build" the car you want, or search the dealer inventory. When I was looking to find mine, I tried to use that web site, but the info on it was out of date. When I found one that I was interested in, I'd call the dealer listed and they'd tell me that it had already been sold, sometimes as much as ten days earlier. I think the dealers themselves have access to a better system, with real-time data. Just hard to get a remote dealer to send a car when they can sell it locally. There's a lot of money in a car sale. I ended up driving pretty far to get mine. I ended up with a pretty low opinion of Pontiac dealers
the 2004's are out in my area.. at least in michigan.. went to the dealership on tuesday looking for info on the 03 gt's the rep said i'd be hard pressed to find one.. so he did a search and it listed 12, 04 gt's in a 100 mile area... he looked and didn't even know he had 1 in stock.. was fresh off the truck.. took it out for a test drive.. 3 days later.. i'm now a new owner of a monotone shadow 2004 vibe gt

I live next door to a pontiac dealer (actulally they are my landlord). They have 2 03's (red and white mono) and 4 04's (salsa, that orange, blue...etc). And I konw they have another "bigger" lot w/ more about 12-15 mile away (so their out there).

I say wait for what you want. You'll be driving your car for many years and spending a lot of money on it. Unless, you really need a car now, I think you'd be better off waiting for what you really want.
Hello all:I greatly appreciate your feedback. I went to my dealer to get my deposit back and I am going to move on. I was more distraught on the lack of proper customer service than any thing. It was like hey, we didn't have the courtesy to call you to let you know that your car is not available but you will have to call a lot to find that out I guess I am a bit frustrated. I have decided to look at the Matrix and/or PT Cruiser. My heart is with the Vibe. Who knows? Maybe I might save up for the 2005 Version. Vibers thanks for your input. If I get the Matrix, I'll have to change by name to ex-VibeyWanna Be. If I don't get the Matrix then I'll let you all know.Is it okay to be here still if I don't have a Vibe or Matrix? The vibe on this forum is pretty cool and I've become attached to this forum. Please respond

Hi:Yes I have. That is where I looked originally for a dealer. I'm getting my money it is already being mailed back to me.I know that Pontiac Vibe looks better It DEFINITELY looks better. The PT Cruiser is an okay car, the Matrix is okay. I am not aesthethically pleased by the Matrix but its Toyota. The old antique look of the PT Cruiser is cool. I have a soft spot for antiques I just don't think I can wait 2 more months for a vehicle. It is pretty much almost summer time and it will be a total bummer to not have something until the Fall you know. The sunshine is calling me and to not have my own ride is getting to me. I am not sad in that maybe the next time I try I might end up with a 2005 GXP if that is available by that time. If anything, if the Pontiac Vibe upgrades to a real nice vehicle, I'll trade what I have for it.
You should be able to take the car to any Pontiac dealer for warranty service. It doesn;t have to be the exact one that you buy the car from. You might get an extra perk, or maybe a better handshake from the dealer that sold you the car, but they all have to honor the warranty. Then again, maybe the local dealer will be extra nice to you even if you buy a Vibe from someone else because you've had a rough time with them. If you're not so pissed that you would never go to them for anything anymoreI still think that if you like the look of the Vibe over the Matrix, then you should try to get a Vibe. However, if you do go for a Marix, it is pretty much exactly the same car, with some different exterior styling. Almost all of the good things you've read about Vibes on this site (and the bad ones too) apply. That chrysler product is a different story, but they sell a lot of them, so they can't be all bad. Not sure where you are or what's convenient, but there may be a used Vibe out there just waiting for you. Check out the paper from the big city, or go to cars.com and search. Won't be as special as a brand new one, but might also save you a couple grand too, if you can find one you like that's not too far away. There's usually a vibe or two on ebay, but odds are they're nowhere close. If you order an 04, you can get the cool new gauges. Kind of depends on how soon you need a car though. For me the need was urgent, and I didn't get some of the options that I wanted, but I still like it. I ended up with the Moon&Tunes, which I was trying to avoid because I wanted the extra headroom, but took it, Now I'm glad I did and don't notice the lost inch or so 'cause the overhead window is pretty cool.Good luck, let us know what happens
Hi:Well I definitely don't want to go back to that particular Pontiac dealer again. I have nothing against the dealership itself, it is just the particular salesperson. Left a bad taste. Yet he was not the overly obnoxious type. Also, I don't want a used one, I want a new one that I can bond to. I am particular that way.
quote:Well I definitely don't want to go back to that particular Pontiac dealer again. I have nothing against the dealership itself, it is just the particular salesperson. Left a bad taste. Yet he was not the overly obnoxious type. Go to a new sales rep, and let him know that you are switching to him because the other guy was a putz. The new guy will probably be eager to make up for the lack of effort put out by the other sales rep. Don't give up on the Vibe for something you want less. I did that with my first new car, and was slightly dissapointed, not to mention I was ready to get rid of it well before my lease was over.
quote:Also, I don't want a used one, I want a new one that I can bond to. I am particular that way. Just trying to offer alternatives.I bought a new one, and it is nice to know that it is and has always been only yours, so I can relate. I don't know if I'd feel the same way about it if I got it used from some of the folks who posted to http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1057 is there some configuration that you want that you can't find on the lot? I know I had a hard time even finding one that had the 5 speed, with no other constraints. Do you have a list of the features that you must have and those that you refuse to have? Any color preferences?I try to not go to the dealers, the ones around me are all high pressure types, but other folks here drop in for service, or to bug them about superchargers and such, maybe if you post your wish list someone might spot it for you.
Don't give up! I wanted a certain Vibe and my dealer did not have one on the lot. There were two in the area, but the dealers would'nt release them. After much frustration and a bit of "squeaky wheein", I pick up my car tommorrow (Base Vibe, Neptune, 5 speed, Power package, Aluminum Wheels). I wasn't about to change my mind, and it seems determination and a bit of aggressiveness paid off. If you want this car, make it known. Call GM (and go beyond the 1-800-GM#) Ask for Managers and/or owners.CMT
Hi all:Just an update. I got a 04 Matrix. It's a leased one but I am satisfied for now. After this lease, I will buy maybe an upgraded Pontiac GXP (year 2008).Thanks for letting me stay here. I grieved enough after the decision made.
quote:I got a 04 Matrix.Alright! Are you driving it yet? If so, then you've gotta feel better about Toyota over the Pontiac dealer you went to before. That was quick. I really thought about a Matrix. I think you get a little better visibility out the back, and Toyota offers a better warranty than GM, and there's definitely better aftermarket support for styling options, but for me the bad dealer experience was at Toyota, and the Pontiac folks were a lot better. Guess it depends on the area. What options did you get on it? quote:(removed)! TEH CRY! ;_;(removed)?
Hi: Well the options are not too fancy. I am more of a laid back type but it is an XR type 2WD. So far it has been driving quite wonderfully. I can make great corners when turning. The only fancy things I have are the aluminum wheels and power windows, locks, etc. Everything else is pretty much basic stuff. I am not much of a mod person. The Toyota dealer was exceptional. He was honest about stuff (rare I know) and I pay less than $350 a month for a leased vehicle. I got a wave from a fellow Matrix person we actually had the same color too And plus hopeful I will not have major problems with the vehicle. It has good gas mileage and handles some bumps pretty well. It is strange to me sometimes I am used to handling SUVs I forget that I don't have to make too many wide turns when cornering.
I'm paying just under 375 for a GT that I bought. I didn't have a down payment, but I did get 0% for 5 years. Just curious, but why did you go for a lease over buying it?
Hi:Initially I wanted to buy. But it would be over $400 a month if I did decide to finance. It took me so long to even save to have any sort of reasonable downpayment. So I took the lease. I believe it is one of those smart leases. I am trying to save some money to buy my next vehicle totally cash with no financing or even leasing.
