'05 Vibe Heater Acting Up - Check Engine Light

Post by slipsixx »

Alright people here's my story..Yesterday my mom noticed that her check engine light came on in her '05 Vibe (BASE, AUTO). So this morning I took it to AutoZone to have them hook up a diagnostic. The guy there tells me there's a "Big Leak". He says a "small leak" would be something simple as the gas cap being improperly tightened. The problem she is having is that the heater fan will not turn on while the car is stopped. At any setting, LO, MED, or HI, you can hear the radiator fan kick on, but the heater fan does nothing. Here comes the strange part, once you start moving it will kick on @ 10-15 MPH. And once you start to brake, the heater slows down, almost like it's turning off, then once you come to a complete stop, turns back up like nothing happened. This doesn't happen ALL the time, only when it wants to.This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. Could it be the blower motor going out? I read in another thread that one guy's AC drain was plugged.I haven't pulled anything apart yet, JW if anyone else has had these symptoms.Thanks.

if you search for the fan blower , hvac fans etc. you'll find out about a fuse...that could be causing it.

Mine is doing the same thing. In addition to the engine fan kicking in right away, when in the defrost position. Could that be a fuse too?
