Winter tires for 2009 1.8L auto

Post by elkhaze »

Questin 1: Can I install the 15 inch rims on the 2009? Walmart and dealer say you can only put 16" rimms.Question 2: If I get the 16" steel rims from Walmart or Canadian Tire, would the multi-fit rims work or should I buy them from Pontiac/Toyota dealer?

looks like 16"s are only recommended ones. Even Tirerack says so. There could be a offset for 15" that could fit...but its probably because of the brake calipers, arent they bigger on the GT?

I have test fit a set of customers 15" Toyota rims on my 1.8 '09 at the tire shop I still help out at when I'm not at my regular job. Clearance in the front was minimal about 1/16" between the caliper and wheel hoop. Tried a couple sets multi fits from different suppliers one cleared but the other clipped the caliper in one spot must have been slightly out of round.
