A few monts ago i put an aftermarket air intake and a borla muffler on my vibe. It seems to be running fine, but the cel is on, with a P0171 code. Every now and then it'll go away for a few days or even a week, but it always comes back on with the same code. Could my intake be causing the lean condition?? And if it is how can i fix it?
You could have a vacuum leak after the MAF as well. Another possibility is that if it is a "no-name" CAI kit you installed it may have a bigger that stock tube diameter if it requires you to relocated the MAF sensor from the OE housing to the new tube. Just ran into this in the shop doing R&D for the 2ZR-FE in the '09s where the tubing was one size over diameter and required a plastic calibration insert for the MAF to see the correct airflow.

WELCOME fellow PA member.Depending on the year and type of Intake.the 05-08 with the drive by wire are know to lean out on the top end with CAI.IF you have a short ram intake it will help limit the lean CEL.

thanks. i tried the maf and i made sure there weren't any leaks, so i ran the Techron through with some high octane gas and it went right out. how often do i have to add this? and is this condition harmful to my vibe?
