I am debating doing this to one of my 350's so I have some questions:1. Do you just use a bit in a die grinder similar to that of a bit used in head porting?2. What paint do you use: Just body color paint or do you get engine paint specialy mixed up?By the way great looking car and those 406s are great motors cannot wait to see the progress on it.

Thanks for the information. I think that I will give it a shot on my boat anchor (305) just for practice. I think that this is the only time another guy can say that you have a nice rear end there. Four link right with adjustable helm joints? Good luck this weekend.

Thanks guys just finshed preping block tonight and just finished primering it ! wow its only in primer and it looks like plastic already without paint even, Color i decided on is a new Honda CRV green tea color i just fell in love with this color everytime id go to the lots and it has an older feel to the look of it besides the 48 was a green orginally style car anyway and it just seemed to fit so the block will be body color aswell as the frame when i smooth it up too.As for engine bore and storke is 3.75 and 4.125 but now is .30 over bore to a 406 basicly its a big block motor in a small block shell the Best of both worlds big block power in a small block light weight package plus alumin. heads and about everything else alumin should be pretty light. And thanks how did you know i had a great rear lol, it is a narrowed 9" with 4.56 gears and a 4-link with air ride. Also heres another neat lil trick i incorporated into the rear of the car i made a flip up liscenes plate so when i show the car i can flip it up out of site and it cleans the look of the rear of the car up a good bit."Or hide from police" i kid i kid

Thanks heres a few other details to the car, first off the car has a ton of Subtle details most people woud not notice the fenders were welded to the body i made the front clip a tilting unit and then to make things more complicated flipped open the top of the hood backwards aswell basicaly having to fabricate evrything from braces to brackets and panels and yet still keep an older feel to the car.Heres a photo of an orginal to give you an idea of actually how much trim i removed to get were i am and you'll see where the hood line is and use to open and all the chrome trim etc. that is now gone. Smoothed up the dash and added a gauge cluster from a 57 chevy pickp that will house my tach and look like a speedo also has a 56 chevy steering wheel and an ididit column with no ignition on it.

Great looking color. That is similar to the one that I was looking for the chevelle. Hopefully I can make up my mind before the body is done. If you do not mind what is the color code for that I may get a test panel made up.

That car is amazing I would leave it a rat rod. That's what I'm into though. Not worth as much as restoring it obviously lol.
