Exhaust manifold heat shield?

Anyone ever hear of the exhaust manifold lower heat shield loosing it's 4 bolts and dropping down? I'm not sure when exactly this all happened but that's what I found today. What sucks is that it was resting on the pass side inner CV boot and it was slowly shaving it - thankfully I saw it before it did any more damage.Judging on how rusted the lower mounting bolts were these 2 bolts must have dropped off quite a while ago.I had to chase the threads with a tap - no fun working in that location because there isn't a lot of room. The 2upper bolts, next to the head, went in a little easier probably because they aren't splashed with water/salt/sand and anything else I drive through.

holy crap no never heard of one just falling off before... did you buy it new? or used from a flood....

I just recently found out mine had dropped as well, all 4 bolts rusted through the shield completely.Unfortunately, attempts at removing the bolts caused one to completely break off the bottom.
