Value of Canadian Dollar

Post by jake75 »

Perhaps I am reading the charts wrong - but I thought the WallStJrl currency report said a Canadian dollar was down to US 78 cents. Unless it means that you can buy US $1 for 78 cents Canadian.

The canadian dollar is down to 78 US cents. This means that you only need 78 US cents to buy a full canadian dollar.

No, it means you need a $1.30 to buy one American dollar. Nobody does a staight exchange, there's always a scalper fee. I know, I was in NY yesterday. But with gas at $1.86 a gallon, it eased the exchange pain. It cost me under 20 bucks to fill the Vibe. I've paid as much as $54.00 at times.

Yep, back to where we once were, but thankfully, so is gas. Filled up in Detroit on the weekend at $1.72 a gallon and I heard it is down to $1.59 gallon now.

What a crock. I had a whole lot of online shopping and vacationing planned at that even exchange rate.
