I now own a Vibe AWD and a Matrix AWD!

Post by hoodoo1966 »

I suddenly needed a second car to drive to my new job (inaccessible by subway), so I found an AWD Vibe 2005 Dark Blue. I've owned an AWD Matrix 2005 Grey (wife's car) since new and we're quite happy with it.About 95,000 km (59,000 miles) and pretty good condition. Just needed new wiper blades, fixed the few paint chips and I discovered the air filters needed replacing also, so now I'm all set.Interesting differences with the two cars, such as the automatic lights on the Vibe, otherwise it's amusing having the identical view from inside.Cheers

HeyI don't know if I have the sport package, not sure. The Vibe has alloys, cruise, PW, which my base Matrix doesn't have, so I suppose that's sportier! I still promise to post pictures, if all of you don't mind cars that are ultra-stock, not modded in any way whatsoever, and never will be!

Thanks for all your input everybody...I was merely joking about the pictures being of stock Vibe/Matrix. I'll try to get them lined up together this weekend, no doubt my wife will be rolling her eyes, lol. then we'll be off doing donuts, as it will be snowing around here. That's the best part about having AWD!!

Nice set of cars, and almost matching as well. Very cool. Congrats!Your maint guys must love to spread salt. Do they know the damage that much salt does to your cars and the driveway? SAVE THE METAL! and the pavement. At least you won't get ice build-up anytime soon, say the rest of the century. And tell the maint guys that it looks like they skipped #8.

we complain and complain about the salt...every year. the management says it's a liability thing. The irony for me is once they shovel the snow, they throw down so much salt afterwards that I have to get out there and shovel (or sweep at the very least) the salt sometimes. I could go on and on, but I won't. Anyways, thanks for the comps, it's kind of fun to have the Vibe and Matrix, now my wife and I fight over which one to drive. Right now I've been driving the Matrix as it has the snows and I have to commute to work on the highway.Cheersps, lol, no. 8 is across the road. pps. keithvibe - no making fun of us stockies

Crampons work better!!! and don't burn your car up... although they might scratch it up a little if you're not careful.

I'll post a picture of the snow we had last year...yikes...not even that much salt could get rid of it.

Yea, some (ok, a lot) of your snow blew off and settled down here. It's too painful to revisit last winter. Hold those pictures! The pain. I still remember the pain.

And the tires are still OEM, so they're due, that will be another $600 or so. At least my Matrix loan runs out in March. I love cars.Quote, originally posted by vibolista »Yea, some (ok, a lot) of your snow blew off and settled down here. It's too painful to revisit last winter. Hold those pictures! The pain.
