New owner saying hi

Post by mrsingh »

Hey All,New forum member and new owner here. I bought a silver 2009 Vibe AWD back in the beginning of October. The car handles really well, and is pretty fun to drive. Overall I am pleased with the purchase, a bit sad that I had to give up my beloved manual transmission for an AWD model. Winters here in Edmonton, AB are harsh though, so I felt the AWD > Manual and chose that option. My only concern so far has been a very annoying metallic noise I am getting from behind the dashboard at highway speeds. I am definitely going to be mentioning that to the dealer when the car goes in for its first service.Besides that the car is great, and I have included a picture of the car freshly washed yesterday for all to see.I just wanted to say hi to all, hopefully will be posting more in the future!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! No mods on the car so far besides $2 blind spot mirrors on the side view mirrors. As for no hubcaps, I switched the car over to its winter setup the other day, complete with Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires.

Added a new mod today, my oem cargo cover finally arrived. Very happy with the product, installation was a cinch, and now I can finally park the car without having to worry about every bystander knowing what's in the trunk!

Car looks great! I have the '09 AWD too, and love it so far. Handles great in snow. I was coming back from Edmonton to Calgary last week, and hit a snow storm on the way. I couldn't believe how stable the car felt on the slippery roads. It was better than my 2000 Subaru Outback.Did yours come with the chrome rims too? I can't remember if that is the only option on the AWD. That is the first silver one that I've seen - nice colour.Overall love the car - my two complaints are no heated seats, and the short sun visors. We picked up the cargo net from the dealer for 40 bucks and it is handy to have, although it does interfere with the cargo organizer. What part of Edmonton you in? We visit my wife's brother in Millwoods periodically.

Hey, Have not had a chance to test the car in the snow yet, but I can't wait to try it out! I agree with you about the heated seats and sunvisors, a seated steering wheel might have been nice too! But I think for the price the car did come with a lot of nice options. The safety features were the biggest selling features for me in this car.I live in the Ellerslie area in South Edmonton, Millwoods is pretty close.
