as you can see i have the stock black steelies. I recently repainted them and reused the lug nut caps from the wheelcovers to cover up the lugnuts. unfortunately theres still an ugly protrusion in the center of the wheel. im wondering if anyone knows of any product to cover only that up? i dont want a whole big center hub cap, just something to screw on the bolt and cover it(and that ghastly hole) up.this is what im talking about
Doesn't Home Depot sell those black rubber bolt cover things. Like the ones you see on playground equipment and such so people dont rip open their heads on the exposed bolts. Try getting one of those.Even if it is not a snug fit, you can use some clear RTV silicone to hold it in place. That way it is not permanent and you can just pull it off and peel the silicone when you remove it. Quick fix.
definitely n hubaps in the winter. or ever again as far as i am concerned. if i cannot afford nice wheels in the spring then ill get some 16 in chrome(or colormatch) trim rings. but back on topic, do those bolt covers cover the entire hub opening? thats really what im looking for........ oooooohhh maybe getting several different sizes starting with the smallest to fit the bolt and then sizing up to the diameter of the hole? fit them all together and get what looks like a decent center cap?
A long time back, you could find ok hubcaps. Now it's mostly better to leave the wheel naked. Should be able to find something light enough to RTV over the hole. Spend a little time browsing in the plastic plumbing parts area of a Lowes or Home Depot. What did you paint your steelies with? Looks good.

a layer of rust treatment crap and then high gloss industrial spraypaint. putting the wheels back on I hit them a few times(kept slipping with the damn lugwrench) and not so much as a scratch.
