My blower motor stopped working last night and it comes on if you slap the bottom of the glove box. A couple months ago it did the same thing and I thought it may be a bad relay. Changed the relay and it seemed to work fine for a while. Now its doing it again, i was doing some reading but I'm confused if its the blower motor that is bad or possibly the the blower motor resistor. Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah I was thinking that too. What I am reading though it sounds like the resistor makes it only work on high when it goes out I don't know. I'm kind of dumb when it comes to this. Anyone got any ideas?
Exactly same thing happened to me..If it starts when u bang it there is water in your blower motorWater got in your blower motor housing because u have a plugged Air Conditioning Drain. When drain is plugged the AC water has no where to go but into your vent system... Then it drains to the lowest part of the system which is your blower motor. If you remove your blower motor u will find water in there. Since there is water sitting at the base of the motor your motor brushes are hung up in the gunk so your motor will only run when u bang it.. I did a post on wheatkings thread on motor removal. Then u can replace motor or.... just clean up the brushes with wd40,,, the brushes will slide and your motor will work.AC drain is a really easy fix.. passenger footwell u look up and u will see a hose that is zap strapped to a nozzle that goes thru the firewall. Loosen hose and just poke up the nozzle (3 inches or so) into the drain tank with screwdriver and poke out the leaves and pine needles that have been sucked in through vents and has plugged up the drain.Blower motor is pretty easy to remove ..and as i said..there are some good posts here on the best way to do it.. Nice thing is you can fix this for just some of your labour.
