Check your auto tranny drain plug!

Post by djb383 »

I did the first auto tranny drain-n-fill on our '05 Vibe today and was surprised at how easy the drain plug was to remove. Next time you're under your Vibe doing an oil change put a 14mm socket on the tranny pan drain plug and give it a gentle snug.

Sorry, may sound like a dumb question to some, but I honestly don't know: what reason do I need to check the tranny drain plug for?

Like I said, just put a gentle snug on the pan plug. Don't over do it.

LOL..I did not see your original post in the thread. I do wonder myself when I see torque specs like 79 ft lbs - why not make it an easy round number like 80. That reminds me that I've never had my torque wrenches recaliberated - I need to get that done one of these days.
