Hello all,I have 2005 awd vibe with 98K. The car is running fine. However I am thinking of trading in for 2009 xr. I believe I could get $11K for this car and 2009 xr has better gas millage then awd and more safety features. Any thoughts?
welcome, You should check to see if GM still has the 0% financing. It is up to you of course but the Vibe is a better deal. The Vibe also comes standard with all safety features that are optional on the Matrix. It would really come down to how much you like the Matrix styling over the Vibe since they are the same otherwise. When we picked-up our Vibe Nov 1st the dealer told us about a new sales rebate of $500 that will last until the new year.Toyota dealership...wouldn't move on price or financing rate. All told, we saved over $3000 by getting the Vibe over a Matrix plus we like the styling of the Vibe more.
i dont know much about the matrix, but if you can offload the vibe and get a good deal on one without much loss, id go for it.as far as styling goes, i think the 09s on both sides look like little minivans. and why does the title say 09 vibe?
The 09 is a similar experience to the previous generation, and fuel saving is minimal to the overhead of getting a new vibe. I have the 09 and like it, but I would consider a different car when it is time to change. I have the 2009 1.8L with 2000km and now getting 25mpg mixed 60% city-40% hwy driving, so don't be shocked if you trade-in and don't get what you expect.
I went to the Cowan Pontiac dealer today, If I take financing from their bank and pay it off after one month and save $3000. Got the price for 2009 1sb package out the door for $9400 with the trade in. Trade in is $10500. I think trade value is low, so I will do some more searching and decide what move to make next. I was always thinking vibe. Matrix was my choice first but Toyota does not give you deal.

I have the 09 1.8l manual transmission and I get 32mpg 100% city driving. I don't accelerate hard and I shift at or before 2000 rpm's. Different people with different driving habits will get different fuel economy.I am glad I made the choice for this car. No regrets.
