Tango Charlie 2003 Vibe

Post by Tango Charlie »

This is my daily driver, Olivia;Like Trikkoncepts, I'm after MPGs. My grille block just isn't as fancy. I run my tires at max sidewall, but even with it being a 5 speed, I'm averaging about 38 MPG. 20 mile commute, not highway like Triks. It doesn't show up in the pics, but the front end is pretty nicked up. Lotsa stone chips. I've done the 'cut the yellow wire' DRL-delete mod. I like it. I've checked out the site from time to time, thought I'd make a first post.

Look’s real clean. So how much of a fuel savings do you get with the deflector? Have you done a comparison between the two on or off, and are there any overheating issues?

Thanks, guys.I've had the grille block installed since September. No temperature issues at all. I've got a ScanGauge II installed (one parameter it displays is coolant temp), so I'm going to go ahead and start blocking off the lower opening, too, now that it's getting cooler...I've noticed a solid 1-2 MPG increase with the block installed. Not a lot, but every little bit helps. You can see a picture-laden thread of its installation here; http://ecomodder.com/forum/sho....html
