Hankook or Cooper Tire Opinion

Post by KNINE »

Pep Boys has a "Buy three, get the forth tire free" sale on Hankook and Cooper tires. Does anybody have an opinion on either of these brands?

I have never owned Hankooks, but I have run Cooper Lifeliners before. They are a good all season touring tire with long tread life. Which Cooper model is on sale?

I keep seeing cars from GM and Ford coming from the factory with Hankooks. Haven't had them, not sure how they are. Kumhos are my cheap Korean tire of choice. I had some tires made by Cooper on the Vibe (Big O brand, a regional tire chain.) I think they were a bit too sporty for the car so they were great in the summer but weren't that great in rain or snow. But they lasted quite a while, had 30k on them when I traded the car and the were barely worn.

I found some reviews of the Hankooks and people don't seem to like them. The Coopers are CS4.

I went on Cooper's website, that looks like a nice tire. Cooper is offering a free 45 day road test on this tire. See if Pep Boys is participating. If you don't like them, you can give them back. http://www.coopertires.com/cs4/CS4_Information.pdfRoad Test details are on page 7 of the pdf linked above.

I had Hankook V4 ES tires and they were excellent performance tires but not as good as my present Nitto NeoGens.

I've always liked Cooper Tires. I've got Hankooks on my Vibe and I'm not too impressed with them. But then again I don't know how old they are and I've put 35000 on them myself since I've owned the Vibe.
