hello all.last night i had happen to me something we all probly have happen atleast once in our life time. i went to bed last night and accadently left the light that is located becide the sunroof controls on. from about 1100pm till about 630AM yesterday.luckly my room mate alerted me and it was turned off.now my question is.the battery didnt die but driving home from work tonight all of a sudden my back seat doom light turns on for about 3 seconds and then turns off and it does this about 5 times once every 2-3 mins and i didnt happen to see any lights go on on the dash as im paying attention to the road.is this a battery warning signal? if so how much juice do i have?thanks-
It could be. Low voltage does funny things with equipement. I had a car that the alternator went out on and didn't realize it until the battery voltage was low. All my dash lights started flashing and blinking while I was driving. The next time I went out to start and go, the car would not start. Not enough charge left in the battery to run the car electronics.I would charge the battery if you have a charger. If you notice the light flashing again within a week or so, then have your battery and alternator tested. On the other hand, you could just have a short in the wiring going to that dome light.
Sounds like a signal to have the light checked out - maybe a short? That would be a pretty cryptic way for the Vibe engineers to let you know that your battery is dying. If your car started after the dome light was left on, then the battery is probably fine. Dome lights are low wattage bulbs anyway.
ok have to wait and see what happens. get the ohm meter out there tommrow.. if a short is what happened is this something that is covvered by warnty also is it some thing you can fix on your own? as ive had experince with a simple issue as that taking them 3-4 days to fix.

Sometimes, especially in colder weather, the rear hatch can latch but not quite close fully. If it happens again, then see if you get that light in the dash, and if so, try slamming the rear hatch
