Winter Tires Firestone Winterforce??

Post by schroeder »

Hi:Anyone have experience with Firestone Winter Force Tires?I see they list them as a New Style for this year. (tread design or compound)They are priced very reasonable. Also considering General Altimax ArcticThinking of putting em on my xtra original alloy wheels. 205/55-16Thanks

I read CR to get good rated and tested winter tires. the top winter performance was the goodyear ultragrip gw3's. I got those on steelies...tomorrow I can look online and give you a list of recommended ones...I just need some sleep now :/

Hi ParnellHave you got your snows on yet.The guys at the Firestone/Bridgestone Store told me the peeps in Duluth buy tons of Winterforce and love em for the hills.Because Bridgestone makes those, might be a plus. They are a new tread design this year.Firestone Store is going to match TireRack price and no shipping. That save like 48.00The problem this year is out of stock on many brands or late ship.I will see what happens.Mostly my driving is in the suburbs, which get plowed very fast.I just want better traction and braking, the Trix is pretty light.Sometime I have trouble getting up the drive at home.Hope all is well.

I ran "Winterforce" on my Vibe last winter, and while not as grippy as Blizzaks, they did really well, without AWD (I was used to driving my Subaru) A few 50lb bags og corn in the back and the car settled right down (mostly highway driving and the back seemed to wag like a dog)For the money, they are hard to beat.. I still miss my beater Subie MADLY..... This is how things are done when you can't get the snow blower out of the barn (it needed a drive belt) EVEN WITH a 4wd pickup... lol.... My dad got hopelessly stuck (it's all down hill to the barn BTW) So, I told him I could do it, no problem... lol... The Winterforce tires came off the Subie and fit the Vibe.. I got lucky... Also, if your state allows "studing" DO IT... they are studable..

Just me.NICE...!!! Congratz... Funny you mention keeping them on, cause around here, you see them a lot in the summer.. lol... They do last better than most winter tires i've owned in the warmer months... Quite a few of the Subaru "Rally-x" guys run them for Rally-X as they are a very agressive tread, and don't get chewed up so bad... lol..
