I'm looking around for a bumper protector that covers the edge of the bumper as well. The OE version just lays on top of the bumper. I found one on ebay for pretty cheap OE toyota, has anyone installed this on the new 09? If so please share I would love to protect my bumper I have the feeling that it will not stay scratch less for long. Here is a Link for the protector... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...A1318

It is my understanding that it will. I want one for my car as well once I finally get it. Just a matter of waiting a couple more weeks.. I want one so that I can get my dog in and out of the car without scratching the bumper all up.
Yes, it fits. I put one on my 2009 Vibe. One word of caution...the tape included is not the best. It has come "untaped" on one side. Make sure it's relatively warm, clean surface, apply, and keep pressure on it for some time.It was 90 degrees, I cleaned with alcohol, applied, and basically sit on it for 5 minutes. Still not enough evidentally.

That's an odd picture of a bumper protector strip on the Matrix. I just put mine on my 09 Vibe. The Vibe's is longer and tapered, so it runs up both sides much further than the one shown on e-bay for the Matrix. Also, the one on the Matrix seems to be wider, and covers more of the bumper in the direction you want it to. So for me, the Vibe's bumper protector is better looking, but is a bit too thin to make it 100% useful. I was expecting something thicker as well. The Vibe's protector is simply a lame piece of Vinyl. In the end, I would have wanted something that protected more of the width of the bumper, not the length.
