Bad tire

Post by bassclef65 »

I am having trouble with drivers side rear tire on my 2009 vibe. It's lossing considerable pressure only 5800 km on them. I don't see any nails or anything like that Iam assuming it's just a bad tire(bead or valve leak etc.). Would this be covered on the bumper to bumper warranty? Thanks

First thing to do would probably be to take the tire to a local garage to have it checked for small holes. It's a 5 minutes process. No tire is safe from nails or anything else laying in the street, even if it's new.

You can take off the tire, mix soap and water in a spray bottle. Spray down the entire tire including along the edge of the rim and look for bubble build up. That's how we test at my shop. That will identify any leaks around the rim, nails, or valve stem leak. If there's a nail in it, generally only $15 to repair and 5 minutes like bassclef65 said. You may have gotten a tire warenty slip in with your paper work when oyu bought the car so take a look in there or in your car's manual.
