No more vibe :(

Post by Vibr8tr »

Sorry I have been away so long. I see alot of new faces around here. I am sad to say, my neptune vibe is now gone. Last week it developed a slight engine knock... which then turned into a larger one. So instead of waiting to throw a rod while still owing $5k on it... it got traded in.... the dealer was great and paid off the entire loan without adding any cost to the new car... and now for the new one. 2002 Camaro, V6 3.7L, magnaflow exaust, T-Top, Black.... A little sad I didn't get the v-8, but still having a blast. I will post more pictures when I get them (I only have the dealer ones since I only have had it a day), and more info on it later.

Sorry to hear about the Vibe! Good that you got rid of it before it died. At least you'll get a littll better gas mileage with the V6 that you would with the V8.

Mental note: do not buy Neptune Vibe in Fayetteville. The V6 might ease the gas mileage adjustment you'll have to make...if you do mostly highway you probably won't suffer too much. You said you're having a blast though, which probably doesn't match "drive like a grandma and hypermile".

It may not be rated all that well as far as power goes, but there is def something to be said for the reliability of it. You may have to make up over 110 horse to reach power of the LS1, but there is def support out there for you to achieve that relatively easy and fairly cheap.

Yes I did mean the 3.8... my bad. I should know cause my girl has the 2002 Grand Prix 40th GP, and it has the 3800 also... Either way, it is a fun car, and is taking some getting used to after the vibe, lol. Finally I can pull out in traffic and not worry. That and it's fun to have a manual transmission again. The vibe had 98000 miles on it, which was a pretty good amount for a 2004... but it did take alot of trips. I will miss being able to haul things, but for a straight trade and paying off the vibe 100%.... I was happy.
