After explaining vibe = toyota matrix.... the conclusion is... is a american car~ that's not good....Than I stop explaining...People can be so fan base... they will never drive anything beside toyota or honda... they dont look at the actual product... is scary...The last three cars I had driven 96 civic, 00 focus and now 09 vibe... I like them all... I dont hold myself to a specific brand...

I am a huge ford fan, but I buy based on my needs, reliability, what the car can offer for me and looks. I no longer am a fan boy.I do LIKE to buy a car thats built in america, but even better is to buy a car from a union plant (if you are for the "american" car) so that those union workers get paid for their work. ie. the vibe which was made at the numi plant. so go tell your friend it was built in a union american plant

yeah i'm tired of arguing with people over this lol when my friends heard i was getting a pontiac vibe they just jump to saying how crappy american cars are and how they break down every so often...my dad has a 1998 ford explorer and the car never had a problem...my 2002 maxima has more rattles and squeaks than the 10 year old explorer. i just tell them to do some research first before talking their bull...oh well doesn't bother me that much anymore tho lol

I had an 88 Ford Ranger, bought it with 100,000 on the clock, drove it for another 100,000 and sold it to my brother who still owns and drives it at over 300,000 and have only ever done routine oil, coolant and brakes. Anything man made has the potential to be a POS

The technology may be foreign but the actual vehicle is not. Most of them are. the impreza is actually made in Japan. I have a slip of paper that came with the car stating 100% JDM lolbut all my cars up to the subaru were all GM.

Just look at the VIN. If it starts with a 1, 4, or 5, it was built in the the US. Look at the logo to see who designed it and got the money for it.

If anything man made has the potential to be a POS, then I vote to let them women folk do the making, instead. American cars are not bad. There are some pretty nice cars that our American car companies build and they are making attempts to make them even better. The Nummi experiment was supposed to be an attempt to learn from Toyota. Note our Vibes. If GM, Ford and Chrysler survive the next couple of years, it might be for the products they will be bringing out. They have a lot of potential... Look at their European offerings. Have you ever seen the Ford Mondeo line or the Euro version of the Focus? Super cars. GM builds some great cars over there, too. You can see a few of them in Saturn stores already. The Astra, Aura and Vue are Opels which are GM Europe. The Chevy Malibu is the Aura that is an Opel. Pontiac's G6 is a Saab 9/3. All these cars are excellent drivers. By the way, Raven, I think that BMW has a large plant in Greer, South Carolina, between Greenville and Spartanburg. I own a 93 Civic Coupe EX that was penned in the USA and then only built in Marysville, Ohio. If you wanted a Civic Coupe in Japan, or any other country, it had to be imported from Marysville. Mercedes Benz builds vehicles in the USA. Almost every brand we can buy has a factory here in our country now. Americans can build great cars.

The only thing I know for sure was at least with the early Trix, the front hubs and I think the rear bearings were made in a plant south of Indianapolis. Where I used to work.
