That first pic is PURE (removed).... You should make sure you have a spray bottle in the car, next time I see it man... you might have to "spray" me off... so clean, so hot..
Thanks guys! Quote, originally posted by bull77 »Nice pics --- what kind of camera does your friend use?I couldn't tell you what kind of camera he uses. All I know is that it is a heckuva lot better than mine.

Thanks again for all the complements! My Vibe has come a long way since I joined this site, and I have enjoyed shareing every part of it with you guys (and gals). I am glad you like it!
I love the look of the rails removed. Any drawbacks? (Besides the obvious... not being able to use the rails). I can't see any reason I would ever use the roof rack. Besides, I don't even have cross rails!I seem remember hearing about leaks. Where do they leak at? I've read the directions on how to remove the rails. There are 4 hex bolts and 3 white clips, right? Are these 7 holes through holes? What is the best brand? Where can you find them? Approx how much?thanks for any info.

No drawbacks. I've never heard of leaking but I filled all the un-used holes with clear silicone just in case. There are 4 "star" bolts and the three white clips which will most likely break. To get the rails off you have to pull up and backwards I believe. If you just pull up, they will probably break like mine did lol. There are only two brands that make them, RKSport makes the carbon fiber ones, and Street Grafitti makes the fiberglass ones (which I think aren't being made anymore). You could check though. I like the flusheness of the carbon ones but the finish and quality of the fiberglass ones once painted generally looks better IMO.
Sorry about not replying but my computer has been down for a while. Pretty much ditto to what Merz said. And yes, the Street Graffiti caps are no longer being made, which means they are a pain in the (removed) to get. But very worth it if you can find a pair.
The roof rack caps are a an item that was made by Street Graffiti, a company that has since gone out of business, so they were really hard to find. The body kit was made by GM for a couple of years, but was not that popular. Because of that, it is also very hard to find. I got lucky with the body kit, as I was able to snag one off ebay for an awesome price. The caps were more difficult to obtain, however.
love your ride.......I have a few questions on your vibe do the custom roof racks have enough room for a oem top spoiler in the back? I know you can't get the roof racks you got any more, but i'm trying to locate some used ones. also I live in michigan, I too have all the ground effects and would like to lower mine. is there a problem in the snow sitting so low. If there is i was thinking of going with adjustable springs and two set of tires and rims one for winter and one for summer. thanks dan
I went all last wintered lowered. It was pretty good most of the time. However I have yet to see a winter with the ground effects on as well. Yes I do believe that the caps leave enough room for the oem spoiler. A guy used to have a Vibe that had both the caps and the spoiler as well. The name on here was Meistees if you want to check their garage to see the pics.
ajflan.....did you ever have the 18s on it before lowering it? if so how much of a difference was there after lowering it as in harshness of ride? comfort of ride decrease much? is it more bouncey now? I have 18s now not lowered, just wondering. any advise on adjustalbe coil springs, Ive seen some that you turn a aluminun threaded cylinder to adjust height. thanks, dan
No I lowered it first. But the transition from 16's to 18' wasn't that bad at all. The ride is not bouncy, but it is firm. Yes you could go with adjustable coil overs, but the reason that I didn't is because of the huge price difference, and the fact that I am not going for track usage.
those look pretty clean on your car, but i still don't like how they stick out a little bit. If it wasn't for that, I totally woulda picked up thems guys, buuuut i got these instead....
I like how the carbon caps are more flush, the only problem I have with them is that the fitment I heard isn't all the great because of the wavy-ness of them and also they are held on by two way tape.I wish more companies would make **** for our cars Once I get into bodywork and painting at school I'm going to start custom making parts for the Vibe and depending on how they come out, I will start selling them on here for anyone interested.
lionsfan,RK Sport makes the roof rack filler caps here:http://www.rksport.com/main/ca...d=147google search the part and you can get it for a lot cheaper than $230Merz,They are kinda a btch to get lined up just rite, but once you get them on right, they look good. The double sided tape is more than enough to keep them from ever moving, too. A lot of car companies use double sided tape to hold car trim on, so its usually pretty reliable (just use in moderation, though ) O, and nice Duc, i just wrecked my 08 R6 last friday I just don't think i like carbon fiber much anymore, because of the amount of extra upkeep compared to painted fiber glass....aaaaand if you start making body parts, make the body kit off of the old vibe GT-R concept. I'll buy that from you here's those other pics lionsfan...
Hmmm. I do like those carbon ones a lot now that I'm looking and you're right, double sided tape is plenty. After all out of the 4 bolts per side on the Street Graffiti ones only 2 bolts could even catch the threads. The fiberglass ones are not made well enough and the other bolts do not line up with the holes (removed) so I guess it doesn't really matter. Only thing is since I have the carbon hood, and my Vibe is two-toned, if I got hte carbon caps there might be too many different shades of gray all over the car and it might look cluttered. If I had a mono-tone I'd totally buy them. Thanks BTW. I crashed mine a while back too but not much damage, just transmission work was needed (one of the many benefits of having a naked crotch rocket no fairings to screw up).
Merz your right about those roof rack holes not lineing up. Total PINA and they stick up higher in the back. As for the question if the spoiler has any issues with them installed...if you don't align the caps right it will rub with the spoiler when you open the hatch.

thanks for the pic KerryKerry.......the rear of the roof rack looks like it has a rough surface or swirl marks and it appears the side and top are smooth surface is that right? when you go to rksport website they look like the whole things has a rough surface or swirl marks. dan
haha, im assuming you're not too familiar with carbon fiber? The entire part is smooth, the carbon fiber just has a distinctive look to it, because you can see the weaved carbon fiber through the epoxy. You kinda gotta see a carbon fiber part in person to get what im saying, images online don't show it exactly
gotcha, I have a black vibe, I'll have to look into painting them to cover what can be seen thru the epoxy. I got a few friends that paint for the big three auto shows they should know.
