09 vibe GT -- Kumho Ecsta ASX

Post by lowincash »

My car only has about 1600'ish miles on it so far and I want to change my tires already. I have read some folks here use them and likes them and I've read a lot of good reviews on them. For folks with the GT trim with the 18" rims, do you think the stock tires are ok? I kind of think they're noisy and stiff. Hopefully the Kumho's will make the ride a bit smoother and quieter while still have great handling.

I would do the SPT instead of the ASX...

I've had Kumho ASX's before on my previous car (2005 Sentra SE-R Spec-v) and the tires were very good for their price. Wet traction was good and dry traction was also very good. They were quiet on the highway. The stock Goodyear AS/C tires on the GT are extremely noisy and the dry traction does not impress me at all. I notice that once they start to wear down a little, they get even louder on the highway. The problem with the 18" wheel size is the cost of the tires

well i didn't get the kumho's this time...i just got some nankang tires that the place had in my size. i just asked for a quieter and smoother tire and it's a lot quieter now...ride is a bit smoother too. at first i thought the stock tires were quiet but after changing out the stock tires that's when i realized how noisy they were...and only a little over 1600 miles on them too lol
