New '04 Grand Prix

Post by mu_ohio »

Well, my folks just replaced their Aurora with an '04 Grand Prix GTP Comp G. I drove it around a lot this weekend and I'm in love. If I had to get a new car with an auto, this would top the list. As a matter of fact, I would get rid of my Mazda6 for one of them. If anyone has the chance, take one out for a test drive. I will try to post some pics later this week once the rain stops. BTW, if anyone wants to get a Pontiac, they have owner loyalty plus a bunus if you own a car from a different company.

I agree. If I bought another car that was an auto, it would definitely be a GTP Comp G. Those are bad a$$ cars. I would love to see some pics when you get a chance.

I drove one of those cars a while back, when they still were pushing 280 hp in the test cars instead of 260 which is what they were eventually released at. They handle really nice, and it was good to be able to drive it on the test tracks at work, so I didn't have to watch out for police while ripping around on the roads.I have always wanted a GTP, and insurance is what made me stay away from getting one. I am really glad I got the Vibe GT though because I was torn between the two. (I really need the cargo room).

the recnet Car and Driver had a review of them and I have to agree w/ them:Plus: its a nice ride, lots of hpMinus: its priced the same as car that have considerabley more "appeal" (the new rx-8, a well apointed 3 series...etc). if it were 4-5 grand less, they'ed have a real winner

Saw on 04 GP at the NY Auto Show. Beautiful car. They did a great job with the facelift on that line...So how is that TAPshift? I hear it's awesome!

I sold one of the first Grand Prix GTP Comp G's on our lot. It is a bad a** car to say the least. Lots of power especially when you are using the TapShift. The car will only do 110MPH while in automatic, but in TapShift it will do 120+ while still in Third gear It also has an upgraded steering component called Magnasteer which help in both low and high speed driving.Shadow Realm

quote:is that the one with the racing componets?? what did they pay? i want one too.It has a few upgrade performance parts. Like mentioned earlier, it has magnasteer II which measure lateral accelaration and speed. The suspension is stiffer and has stabilitrack to help keep the car in line. Since we get the GM discount it came in around $25k I believe after all the incentives where the sticker was $30k. I really want to get one to replace the Vibe or maybe wait for the GTO since it will be close in price. Damn Pontiac, why do they make decent vehicles
