Scangauge in '09 GT

Post by Bikerscum »

I took the easy way. It's not in the way at all, clearly viewed from the driving position, & easily removable to store or transfer to another car. One little patch of velcro. Installed... Pull down dash cover a bit & snake the phone plug end of the wire through...Use a twist tie to tie the little door up & out of the way, plug in the cable & tuck the excess cord inside the left foot well cover...Driver's view... Removed... Gone... 10 minute install without surgery. If you're braver than I, a little trimming of the storage tray insides might just make it fold right up in there.

Very nice, Looks real clean. I wouldn't be a fan of having to look down at it though...

The hardware install certainly looks like something I can handle but how was the software config? I'm going to be passing through LA on a road trip and am considering picking one up from a shop listed on the scangauge website... I remember seeing pictures of someone placing it above the rear view mirror... ::begins searching for instructions on how best to run the cable::

Ah, young grasshopper, you have much to learn. When mama's happy - everybody's happy. Save a months worth of pizza and beer money and you'll have ScanGauge money.

The software config is basically telling it how much gas you used at a fillup. It takes over from there.
