Yikes, sounds like they're doing more than just kicking around the idea of joining forces... They want this a done deal by election day. http://www.reuters.com/article...81019h ... .80305Very interesting, not sure what to think of this situation other than "at least it isn't Ford." There is going to be so much overlap between the two companies, I sense a massive slaying is in the works.

There is not going to be anything left of the Michigan Economy pretty soon. Sad to say it, but another "Great Depression" and another "World War" may be right around the corner.

Poooooooooooor move. Instead of two small faltering comanies let's make a huge failing company. That makes sense. At least with Ford they would have stood a better chance.
Ford did not want to join GM,they wanted to be able to fail all on there own.As far as GM buying Chrysler, they just want the Jeep brand. And maybe the minivan. If GM does not take over Chrysler,Chrysler will be gone in a few short years.

Friday we were told at work that the Chrysler/GM deal is being shelved for the time being. GM said they want to aquire Chrysler and do with Chrysler what Chrysler did with American Motors when Chrysler aquired them. but it seems Chrysler doesn't want GM to do that, which I'm sure would be get rid of everything Chrysler except for Jeep and the van divison.
