I had a flat the other day and luckily I noticed it right next to a mom and pop auto shop, and they fixed it for $10, wich was an absolute steal in the rain. =D But it got me thinking, I have always had a pump of some sort in every car I have had so far, but they were usually crap, so I thought I would ask for any recommendations, just a good quality small air compressor, that is well made, but not overpriced. The Bump happened tonight I tried to squeeze between the space I was in, and a lamp post. and I misjudged(seem to be doing too much of that lately) the distance, and rolled over the concrete tire stop w/ my drivers tire, after backing it up and correcting my aim, It dawned on me I probably just screwed my alignment. Should I wait it out since I have a little ways to go on my tires, or should I get it taken care of soon?Anyone ever go with this "lifetime alignment" from Firestone, and is it worth it or a scam.?thanks again
I have one like this from autozone:http://www.autozone.com/select...p.htm$20. It works well, even the gauge is quite accurate and doesn't jump around like crazy like some compressors I've used. It also has a three LED light, which is halfway useful. As far as the alignment, I wouldn't do it unless you have a problem. Check to see that it still tracks straight on a good, level road. If it seems good, just watch that your tire treads are wearing evenly. As they say, the number one reason for needing an alignment is an alignment.
You didn't likely do anything to your alignment by jumping a parking curb at low speed... If it was a high speed thing, well, you have a lot more to worry about than the alignment... lol... Can't say much about the Firestone thing, but anytime anyone mentions "lifetime" in reference to ANY vehical, it throws red flags for me... It's like lifetime brake pads, sure, they will last forever, but how many sets of rotors will they eat through??

They will also try and sell you on another service, "snake oil", or parts you really don't need.

My brother and I both have the lifetime through firestone and it does not seem to be a scam at all. Of course they may tell you that you need this or that, but so will any other place that you go. I think I paid $115 so if I get two alignments it covers the cost. I would go for it especially when they are on special.
