Well, I had the issue with the recirculate flap door "thunking" when I shut MAX A/C off... Lots of good info about how to correct this in the forum, so I decided to take the motor out and rotate the gear 180 degrees...problem was getting the motor out.Decided to take the radio out and did, and I could SEE better, but still couldn't get to the screws...SOLUTION: I disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes and took out the passenger side airbag unit. (one bolt and 2 nuts) I didn't need to disconnect any wiring, just moved it to the right, out of the way- to gain better access to the motor screws. It worked like a charm. Got the motor out, opened it and found 3 teeth broken off the gear, so I marked it and rotated that gear 180 deg and put her back together.Reassembled everything and the flap works great! If you're struggling with this, send me a note- it's not as hard as removing the dash on a '98 Ford pickup (which I had to do a few weeks ago).
