PCM/ECM go bad on 2003-2006 Vibes? Yours go bad and you have to pay for it? Not covered by Pontiac? File a complaint and
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ Please! This part was defective from the git-go and they are NOT issuing a recall...yet, but there are TSB's on every auto website about this. Symptoms are Harsh shift, jerking when shifting and when putting in reverse or park or drive.Mine went bad at 88,000, yet symptoms existed somewhat randomly before I had the Engine light come on so I thought it was either I was accelerating too fast, or going down or up a "steep" ramp..but now I realize...this is what it was!I only crossed the 80,000 threshhold 5 months ago...since I drive about 25,000 a year. Mines a 2005.Help get this recalled. I have talked with customer service and they won't refund...cost me $600 to replace. Ouch! It's NOT a minor repair. The part is $354 dollars! and the labor about 1 1/2 hours....so plan to pay tons!If you have any suggestions for me to get a refund, let me know...otherwise, let's get a recall going on this very common defective part that has even been addressed by the Federal Emissions people as "replace" under warranty. Yet they say only to 80,000, but I had no awareness of the issue...so I think they should have sent out a notice saying "symptoms"? Get it in asap even if you don't have an engine light on!!! Then they will have to take notice of the amount of repairs and investigate.Secondly, paint job and vibe logo not holding up well.Third, windows scratch very easily! Even a window cleaning at a gas station scratches the windows. Please complain about any of the above at
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/Thanks.
